USED Gibson / 1979 RD Artist Bass Mod Natural [11]

This is a very unique vintage bass made in 1979 and belongs to Gibson's Research & Development series.
Based on a rare vintage model, this custom version is designed with modern playability in mind.
The set neck construction with maple wood produces a well-balanced sound with firm lows and bouncy highs. The longer scale (approx. 34.5") makes it easy to play, and the ebony or maple fingerboard has a unique texture and feel. The linear and modern body shape and the head design unique to the RD series give it a unique presence not found on other basses.
The pickups are original. The factory active circuit is currently unavailable due to a special toggle switch and a defective circuit board, but the wiring is included as an accessory and a new Bartolini TCT preamp is already installed. This provides modern playability and reliable sound. Controls are kept simple with two volumes and a treble bass, while a PU selector and standby switch allow for a wide range of tone makeup.
The locking pins have been replaced and are missing.
The pegs are a little stiff. There are paint reactions and paint peeling at the base of the head due to the stand.
Overall, there are scratches, dings, paint deterioration and darkening, and metal rust.
The neck has low fret reverse warp, high rise, torsion, and waviness. The frets have been fretted and there are no problems with normal use.
