A 1974 Martin D-28 is now in stock.
Serial number is 367428, and it has a warm tone nurtured by years of use.
The rich bass and balanced tone produced by the solid spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides make it suitable for a wide range of genres, including folk, bluegrass, and country. The combination of the ebony fingerboard and mahogany neck makes the guitar comfortable to play and prevents fatigue even after long hours of playing, and the deep sound and comfortable feel of a vintage guitar that is nearly 50 years old makes it a collector's item of great value.
It is also equipped with a retrofitted L.R. Baggs Lyric pickup, allowing you to enjoy the vintage tone as it is in live performances and recordings. The deep sound developed over many years of use and the expressive appearance produced by the aging process make this guitar an attractive piece.
There are some age-appropriate signs of use, such as paint age reaction, dents, and weather checks.
The center crack on the top has been checked internally and shows evidence of patch repair and glue injection, and the bracing has been crossed over, so there are no strength issues.
There are cracks on the other tops, but they are not a major hindrance to playing. The neck is slightly twisted, and the 6th string side is forward warped.
String height is 3.0mm at the 12th fret of the 6th string and 2.0mm at the 12th fret of the 1st string. The 6th string is a little high, but the 1st string is the standard value, which seems acceptable considering the age and condition.
The saddle is used to its limit, but rod adjustment is not possible due to neck torsion, and future repairs may require fretboard modification, etc.
