A recreation of the transitional-era 1966 Jazz Bass, crafted with Fender Custom Shop precision.
This 1966 Jazz Bass in Journeyman Relic finish was built in 2016.
It features a two-piece alder body paired with a quarter-sawn maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard, resulting in an authentic vintage-style finish.

It features neck binding, dot position marks, and lollipop-style tuners—all characteristic of the transitional era—and boasts a mid-’60s look thanks to the combination of a 4-ply brown tortoiseshell pickguard and a 3-Color Sunburst finish.The rosewood fingerboard has a subdued color with fine grain, and the pickguard displays a subtle patina that suggests the passage of time. Combined with moderate aging achieved through the Journeyman Relic process, the finish conveys a natural, well-loved appearance rather than an overly worn look.

It is equipped with two cross-wired Jazz Bass pickups. Combined with a vintage-style 4-saddle bridge and lollipop tuners, it features a traditional configuration inspired by the Jazz Bass from around 1966. Its playability is also a highlight, thanks to the 34-inch scale, 60s U-shaped neck, and 9.5-inch radius fingerboard.
The original pickup fence, bridge cover, and finger rest are included and already installed.

This instrument, crafted by the Custom Shop, reimagines the distinctive 1966 specifications—a hallmark of vintage Jazz Basses—to suit modern playing environments. The combination of 3-Color Sunburst and Brown Tortoise shell creates a wonderful aesthetic, making this model especially recommended for fans of mid-60s Jazz Basses.
Scratch-like marks can be seen on the body near the truss rod adjustment area beneath the pickguard. It appears the body was modified to allow for truss rod adjustment while the neck remains attached by removing the pickguard.

Since the instrument was originally finished with a relic effect, it is difficult to distinguish between these marks and scratches or damage resulting from use.
There are no noticeable issues with the neck, and it is in good playing condition.
