The "L" Series ushered in a new era of acoustic guitars in the Japanese music scene, and even after more than 40 years since its release, it continues to be cherished by countless artists both in Japan and abroad. Its noble value lies in its craftsmanship, which never ceases to evolve, consistently embodying the sound and playability demanded by the times at the highest level.

Featuring a small body that is easy to hold and maneuver, this model boasts a meticulously selected all-solid construction. The top is crafted from high-quality Englemann spruce treated with Yamaha’s proprietary wood refinement technology, “A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement).” This produces a deep, rich, and open tone reminiscent of a vintage guitar that has been played and aged for decades—even though it is brand new.Paired with premium Indian rosewood for the sides and back, it delivers a superb wide-range sound—from a rich, deep low end that belies its small body to a sparkling, well-defined high end.

The proprietary non-scalloped X-bracing has been refined into a low-profile square shape, maximizing the precision of the intersection points. Furthermore, the addition of "side braces" connecting the top and back braces ensures that string vibrations are transmitted instantly and without loss throughout the entire body.The overall finish features a "stone-powder-filled lacquer coating (gloss finish)" meticulously applied by hand by skilled craftsmen. This finish never impedes the natural resonance of the wood, maximizing its exceptional response and dynamics.

The neck section is also packed with luxurious specifications befitting a flagship model. In addition to a robust 5-piece construction of mahogany and rosewood, the veneer on the back of the headstock and the volute design thoroughly reinforce resistance to warping and twisting.The neck profile tapers exquisitely toward the higher frets, while the "fretboard edge chamfering" ensures it feels like a natural extension of your hand the moment you pick it up. Combined with the deepened dovetail neck joint—a direct descendant of the Custom model (with the joint designed 4mm deeper)—this design delivers overwhelming sustain and stress-free playability.Furthermore, the string action—fine-tuned to suit modern playing styles—and the string spacing widened by 0.3mm allow for the expression of every subtle nuance, from solo guitar to strumming.
