Mr. Ted McCarty left a great mark on the electric guitar world in the late 1950s. The "McCarty" model was born from the relationship between Mr. McCarty and Paul Reed Smith, and blends the technology and design of PRS Guitars with the essence of the great guitars of the golden age. The bound 22-fret neck is moderately thick-walled to enhance tone and sustain, and features special 58/15 LT pickups that have undergone a TCI (tuned capacitance & inductance) process. The 58/15 LT is also a vintage-style pickup, focusing on clarity and midrange, combined with a push/pull tone control and a 3-way toggle switch for a wide range of sonic variations.

And the McCarty model features brass studs and vintage-style tuners.

The McCarty model is a very simple guitar," says McCarty. "Everything that touches the strings is the most important element of the guitar's sound. That is specifically the bridge, nut, and tuners. So in developing our McCarty model, we've up-dated these parts to give it a significant tonal boost." Paul Reed Smith said.

In the late 1980s, Paul Reed Smith consulted with Ted McCarty on guitar design and construction techniques, an exchange that later led to the release of the first McCarty in 1994, The McCarty model incorporates all the skills and knowledge that Paul acquired from Ted, plus a great deal of Paul's own experience as a guitar builder.

Condition
The pickup covers are dull, but the guitar is in relatively clean condition with little use. The neck, frets, truss rod, etc. are all in good playing condition.
The guitar has been fully adjusted at our repair center when it arrived, so you can use it with no worries.

1950年代後半、エレクトリック・ギター界に偉大な足跡を残したテッド・マカーティ氏。そんなマカーティ氏とポール・リード・スミスとのリレーションから生まれたモデル「McCarty」は、PRSギターズの技術とデザインに、黄金時代の名機のエッセンスをブレンドしたギターと言えます。バウンドが施された22フレットのネックは、トーンとサステインを強化する事を考慮した程よい肉厚になっており、TCI(チューンド・キャパシタンス&インダクタンス)のプロセスを経た特別な58/15 LTのピックアップを搭載。また、58/15 LTはビンテージスタイルのピックアップで、明瞭さと中音域に焦点を当て、プッシュ/プルのトーンコントロールと3ウェイのトグルスイッチを組み合わせる事により、幅広いサウンド・ヴァリエーションを可能にしています。

そして、McCartyモデルは、真鍮製のスタッドとビンテージスタイルのチューナーを搭載。

「弦に触れるものすべてが、ギターのサウンドにとって最も重要な要素であるということです。それは具体的にはブリッジ、ナット、チューナーです。そこで私たちがMcCartyモデルを開発する上で、これらのパーツをアップデイトしたことにより、トーンを大幅に向上させることができました。」と、ポール・リード・スミスは語っています。

1980年代後半、ポール・リード・スミスは、テッド・マカーティ氏にギターのデザインと製作技術について相談し、その交流は後の1994年の最初のMcCartyのリリースと繋がりました。McCartyモデルはポールがテッド氏から譲り受けたあらゆる技術と知識に加え、ギタービルダーとしてのポール自身の経験をふんだんに取り入れたギターなのです。

コンディション
ピックアップカバーにくすみが見受けられますが比較的使用感少なく綺麗なコンディションです。ネック、フレット・トラスロッド等、演奏に関わるコンディション全て問題ございません。
また入荷時、当社リペアセンターにて全体調整をしておりますので、安心してお使いいただけます。

The items name with "USED" are used items, and comes as shown in the pictures so there may be marks of use. All items were tested by our store staff and we test each item one more time before shipping them out to make sure they are fully functional.
