Especially in the Japanese market, while opportunities to actually see these models have begun to emerge, it’s still hard to say they fall within a realistic price range
This was the era when admiration and desire for these guitars were likely at their peak. It’s a timeless classic.

This instrument also delivers the powerful tone unique to the D-28.
We’ve thoroughly repaired and adjusted it as described below, making it a guitar ready to play right out of the box.
Neck angle adjustment, fingerboard leveling, and fret replacement (with Jescar frets matching the original shape)
Saddle replacement, nut replacement
Bridge detachment > re-glued and polished
Back brace detachment > re-glued and polished

* Appearance (Finish Texture)
Mottled cloudiness is visible on the sides and back of the body.
* Tuning Pegs
While the fact that they are Schaller pegs is consistent with the instrument’s age, because they feature the Marin logo, there is a possibility they were replaced (or repaired) with parts from a more recent model year, likely from the 1980s or later. (It is also possible that the instrument was shipped with stock parts.)
(The painted surface appears whitish due to its rough texture and lack of gloss.)

Although it does not come with the “blue case,” it does include a “black case” with a logo, shape, and texture that evoke the era.
