We have received a used 2012 Fender Mexico Jazzmaster Special featuring modern specifications.

Featuring high-output pickups, a fixed “Adjusto-Matic” bridge, a 9.5-inch radius fingerboard with medium-jumbo frets, a new neck pocket shape designed to produce even more sustain, and a screw-mounted tremolo arm, this guitar boasts innovative specifications tailored to meet the demands of today’s music scene in terms of both sound and playability.

Medium Jumbo Frets
The medium jumbo frets on the fingerboard are sized according to the “golden ratio”—neither too low nor too high, and neither too wide nor too narrow—making them suitable for any playing style.

9.5” Fingerboard Radius
Fingerboard radius is a critical specification that refers to the curvature of the fingerboard. This model’s 9.5-inch fingerboard radius is slightly flatter than a vintage-style radius, yet it retains enough curvature to provide a natural, extremely comfortable fret feel and smooth bending.

Adjusto-Matic Bridge with Vintage-Style Tremolo

To enable optimal bridge and tremolo performance, the Classic Player model—created with a new neck pocket cut—features a slightly increased neck angle, representing a definite improvement over the original model.

Tremolo Plate Closer to the Bridge
In conjunction with the more pronounced neck angle, moving the tremolo plate slightly closer to the bridge improves this model’s bridge and tremolo performance. This increases the string break angle, stabilizes string position, and reduces the string length behind the bridge to minimize or eliminate unwanted artificial vibrato.
