USED GIBSON USA / 1976 Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst [04]

We’ve just received a 1976 Les Paul Standard featuring 1970s-era specifications—including a 3-piece maple neck, a “pancake” body, and a large headstock.

Although the Deluxe models equipped with mini humbuckers became the mainstay of the lineup in the early ’70s, humbucker-equipped Deluxe models were still shipped during that era as special orders or with optional configurations.
Although the Standard was officially revived in the second half of 1975, this particular guitar was built precisely during that period.

It is equipped with original, engraved, numbered PAF pickups.
The combination of a 3-piece maple neck and a pancake-style body reduces the guitar’s “sticky” feel, resulting in a quick, tight sound with a distinctive compressed tone.

The frets are original; while they were originally set relatively low, they still retain sufficient height even when taking that into account, and the guitar is in excellent playing condition.

The exterior is also in relatively clean condition, making this a highly authentic original instrument.
Weighing in at 4.35 kg, it’s notably lightweight for a ’70s model, which is a nice bonus.

Unfortunately, the pickguard is missing.
The case is not original, but a 1990s Gibson brown case is included.
