John Patitucci is known around the world for his super plays full of versatile musicality.
The TRB is customized for John with a 35-inch (889mm) super long scale, 26 frets, and a special tuned active 5 control system.
Super Long Scale 35-inch Scale
Scaled up to 35 inches from the previous model's 34 inches. This scale increase was requested by John Patitucci to improve the pitch feel and tension in the bass register.
To cope with the stresses placed on the neck due to the increased tension caused by the scale increase, a volute (*) has been added to the back of the head and quilted maple has been applied to the neck to improve neck strength.
* Volute: Thickness is added to the backside of the head and base of the neck to increase strength.
Weight Balance
Lightweight resin pegs are used to balance the weight of the super-long scale. The string post is also made of aluminum instead of brass to reduce weight.
26 frets
Along with the scale increase, the number of frets has been changed from the conventional 24F specification to 26F specification. This improves the sound in the lower register and expands the approach to the upper register, resulting in even more super-playing possibilities.
Solid Brass Bridge
Equipped with a newly developed solid brass bridge with high conduction efficiency that reliably transmits string vibration to the body. The pitch between strings is 19mm.
Active 5 Control System
Equipped with the Active 5 control system that enables a wide variety of tonal expression.
I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) Processing
I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) is a technology that reduces the stress between the paint or adhesive material and the wood or parts by applying vibration at the optimum vibration frequency unique to each instrument in a tuned state, thereby making the instrument "easy to sound" from a new state.
