A used 2024 Gibson Custom Shop / Murphy Lab 1959 ES-355 Reissue Bigsby Watermelon Red Ultra Light Aged has arrived!!

This 2024 model ES-355, serial number A940500, features a Watermelon Red finish that exudes vintage charm.

The ES-355—the “King of Semi-Acoustics”—features an ultra-light aged finish applied by Murphy Lab’s skilled artisans, paired with lightly aged hardware. This combination recreates the look and feel of a vintage guitar that’s been played just enough, capturing the unique appearance and playability of instruments from Gibson’s Golden Era.

The body is made of 3-ply laminated maple, the center block is solid maple, and the neck features solid mahogany with an ebony fingerboard; the neck joint uses a long tenon. Animal glue (hide glue) is used for the joints.

As the top-of-the-line model in the ES series, it features a gleaming split diamond inlay on the headstock, multi-binding, block position marks, and gold hardware such as ABR-1 and Grover tuners.

It is equipped with an unpotted, underwound Custom Backer pickup.

Due to the aged finish, it is difficult to assess the extent of any scratches, but this instrument is in very good condition. Of course, playability is excellent, including the truss rod.
