A rare, limited-edition model from that era! A 1998 Custom Shop model has just arrived.

With “3 of 3” inscribed on the back of the headstock, this instrument is likely the third of a limited run of three. Although the spec sheet and certificate are missing, the stamp on the joint indicates it was made in 1998.
Judging by the grain pattern in the pocket, the body appears to be made of ash; it features a thick, dark rosewood fingerboard with a slab-style inlay and a maple neck with striking bird’s-eye maple. The finish is likely what is commonly referred to as “top lacquer.” The sun-faded Lake Placid Blue gives it an alluring, mysterious aura.

While there are signs of wear from age—such as dents, scuffs, and some tarnish on the parts—it’s still in good enough condition to be enjoyed for many years to come.
