We've just received a used BOSS OD-1!
Released in 1977, this is a landmark model—BOSS’s first-ever compact effects pedal series and the world’s first overdrive pedal. It was beloved by both professionals and amateurs alike until production ended in the 1980s.

The OD-1 is an effects pedal that preserves the guitar’s natural tone while delivering a mild, natural distortion reminiscent of a tube amp cranked to the max. Unlike aggressive distortion, it fully conveys the subtle nuances of picking and fingering techniques without disrupting the balance of the ensemble. It is widely cherished as the original overdrive pedal worldwide.

This unit is a Japanese-made model, believed to have been manufactured in 1986 based on its serial number, and features the 052-281E circuit board with silver screws. It is equipped with a JRC4558DD op-amp, allowing you to fully enjoy the natural drive sound and excellent boost performance unique to vintage BOSS units.
It is an iconic unit that is indispensable when discussing the history of overdrive.
