Moon is popular among young and old, men and women, pro and amateur alike, for its high degree of freedom in ordering components, skilled craftsmanship cultivated by a long-established company, and relatively reasonable price despite being handmade in Japan.
The body, neck, head, and even the fingerboard are dyed in Lake Placid Blue (metallic blue), giving the guitar a look reminiscent of the blue summer sky. The fingerboard inlay is white, and the logo is Ishibashi Ikebukuro's signature "silver crescent logo! The cool colors are all in a fresh and unified coordination.
Depending on the player's tastes and generation, it has deep sonic potential to play old-time fusion or modern pop-rock. The special design of this one-of-a-kind instrument is sure to make you giggle!
The basic specs are based on Moon's orthodox "JJ-4," and this carefully handmade instrument is also very comfortable to play and the grip on the neck is just right. The Moon Jazz Bass is also a trusted instrument for top bassists in Japan and abroad, including Larry Graham, the leading funk bassist, Pino Palladino of the John Mayer Trio, Seiji Kameda, the "Master" of Japan, and Mitsuru Sudo, a leading fusion bass player.
The combination of an alder body and maple fingerboard produces a sound that is both crisp and persistent. The nickel nut is also worth mentioning. The platinum-colored looks are attractive, of course, but the "sense of sound balance between pressed strings and open strings" is also a great point, as it is made of the same material as the frets!
