A used 2013 Historic Collection 1956 Les Paul Goldtop has just arrived!
It was in 2013—the year this model was produced—that key specifications of the current Historic Collection were introduced, including hide glue joinery, the return of aniline dye back, a tubular truss rod, and the adoption of long studs and inserts.

The body features a two-piece maple top and a one-piece mahogany back, while the neck is crafted from solid mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard.
The headstock features the Gibson logo along with “Les Paul MODEL” silkscreened on it, and is equipped with Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuners.

The bound neck, featuring angular dish inlays, has a thick, substantial “50s Rounded C-Shape” neck profile and a tube truss rod.
Hydroglu (animal glue) is used to join the neck to the body.

It is equipped with two “P-90 Soapbar” pickups, as well as CTS pots and Bumblebee replica capacitors.
The hardware is nickel-plated and includes a non-wired ABR-1 bridge, an aluminum stop tailpiece, and gold-hat knobs.
The jack plate has been replaced with a metal plate.

The finish is “Antique Gold,” which replicates a slightly sun-faded appearance due to aging, paired with a natural back.

While there are numerous scratches and dents from use, the guitar functions perfectly. There are fret wear marks from strings 1–3 on frets 1–13, with approximately 70% of the original frets remaining. We have confirmed that the truss rod rotates 60 degrees in both directions.
