Featuring the SG shape—one of Gibson’s signature models alongside the Les Paul—this SG Special features dot position marks and no binding. It has a mahogany body and neck, an ebony fingerboard, a large pickguard, and a mottled matte finish that replicates the patina of age from when it was new.

This SG Special features a faded finish with a distinctive look and an ebony fingerboard—a configuration that was originally available only in white.

The pickups have been replaced with two Musiclily Basic humbuckers, and the strap pins, six tuning pegs, and knobs have been replaced. There are signs of wear (such as discoloration, dents, scratches, chipped or peeling paint, scuffs, playing lines, picking marks, indentations from the endpin, and tarnish or pitting on metal parts and screws, among other cosmetic damage).The case is a non-original soft case.

Setup (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, action adjustment, and fret leveling) was completed upon arrival. The frets are at a height suitable for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both directions; operation has been confirmed up to ±60°.
