The Steve Gadd model, produced until 2005

The Gad model was one of the most popular in Yamaha’s Signature Series during its domestic production era.
Like the Recocas, this is a 6-ply birch model.

Combined with a deeper bed, this snare drum is designed to moderately dampen the snare wire’s sound and minimize resonance, making it ideal for recording environments.
It is currently equipped with a Pearl wound snare head, which produces a tighter bass sound.

Additionally, since the original switch was damaged, it has been replaced with a Pearl model that has the same hole positions.
* Only the screw holes have been enlarged by 1 mm; there are no extra holes.

While there are signs of wear consistent with its age—such as peeling on the black finish of the hoops—the sound is flawless.
Recommended for those seeking that signature Gad “wet” sound.
