USED Epiphone / Limited Edition Elitist Tamio Okuda Coronet / Silver Fox [3.55 kg / Manufactured in 2015]

This is Epiphone’s Japan-made, limited-edition “Elitist” Okuda Tamio Coronet Outfit, limited to 300 units and manufactured in 2015.

Based on a 1964 Coronet owned by Tamio Okuda himself, this original model incorporates his own ideas and ideal practical specifications. It is a custom model featuring a 3:3 large headstock (17-degree angle) configuration with a P-90 soapbar pickup as the front pickup, and an “Olympic Double” style control layout. The neck grip is finished with a carefully crafted vintage round grip that fits comfortably in the hand.

Although the Coronet is a hidden gem that was produced at Gibson’s Kalamazoo factory from the late 1950s onward, this instrument has been meticulously crafted in a domestic workshop and features Orange Drop capacitors, Switchcraft jacks, and CTS pots. The finish is a nitrocellulose lacquer, resulting in a truly satisfying finish.

Although there are some signs of use (scratches, wipe marks, picking marks, tarnish on metal parts, etc.), it is in good condition. There is some adhesive peeling on the exterior of the hard case.

It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, and action adjustment). The frets are at a height that poses no problem for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both directions; it has been tested to operate up to ±60° and is in good working order (slightly tight).
