USED YAMAHA / RBX-6JM RR (Ruby Red) John Myung Signature [5.15 kg / Manufactured in 2002]

This is the YAMAHA “RBX6JM,” a 6-string bass and signature model by John Myung of Dream Theater, manufactured in 1991.

This 6-string active bass features a 35-inch (889 mm) scale length. It has an alder body with a figured maple top, a 3-piece maple neck, an ebony fingerboard, two Alnico V double-coil humbucker pickups, Volume/Balance/3-band EQ controls, and a string spacing of 16.5 mm at the bridge.

This 6-string bass offers excellent playability and a wide range of sound-shaping capabilities, making it a standout instrument not only for technical players but also for band ensembles.

There are signs of wear (including impact marks and scratches around the headstock and outer edges, scuffs, playing lines, picking marks, buckle marks, shine and ring marks on the back of the neck, as well as tarnish, pitting, and rust on metal parts and screws, among other cosmetic damage).

It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, fret leveling, and fret burr removal). The frets are at a height that poses no issues for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both tightening and loosening directions; it has been verified to function properly within a range of ±60°.

Condition Grade: B+: Some scratches are present, but the instrument is suitable for normal use.
