This is an early '70s YD9000A snare drum

This is a 14x7-inch snare drum from the YD9000 series, a landmark in Yamaha drums.
Made in Japan with a 6-ply domestic birch shell, this is the 14x7-inch snare from the YD9000 series—the early 970A model—which has long been the cornerstone of the Yamaha sound.

With its retro-style silky brown covering, the fat tone produced by the deep 6-ply birch shell, and the sensitive buzz created by the full-coverage snare wire, this snare offers excellent balance. It features a robust sound character with well-controlled, moderate sustain.

While there are minor scratches and some wear on the parts typical of its age, the shell itself has no major damage, functions perfectly, and produces excellent sound.
It is still in excellent condition and fully playable.
This is a rare vintage snare drum made in Japan.
