Yamaha Alto Saxophone YAS-62S (First Generation)
This is the first-generation 62, manufactured from around 1978 to 1994, featuring a silver-plated finish and a High F# key.
The first-generation Yamaha 62 is highly sought after as a “Japan Vintage” instrument, and this particular model—with its silver-plated finish and early-production rope-patterned bell band—is especially popular among collectors.
It has a neutral, slightly light playing feel and a somewhat dark, earthy tone.
While there are minor scratches and some tarnish on the plating due to use and age, there is no noticeable damage, and considering its age, it is in good condition.
It has undergone a full maintenance service, including the replacement of all pads, so you can use it without any issues immediately after purchase.
Repair Details: Disassembly, cleaning, polishing, replacement of all pads, replacement of the neck cork, overall adjustment, and re-lubrication with oil and grease
Condition Grade: B+: Some minor scratches, but no issues for normal use
Serial Number: 005931
Accessories: Original hard case, mouthpiece, ligature, cap, strap
