The EGC-90 MOD 1990s has arrived!
Greco released numerous artist models back then and undoubtedly played a pivotal role in the Japanese music scene of that era. This guitar strongly evokes the spirit of that time.
Judging by the solder marks, the pickup cover has likely been removed—replacing a covered pickup with an open one—but based on the patina of the metal, it appears to be original. While there are no engravings or stickers to confirm it, it’s likely the legendary “DRYPickup.”
The sound retains the dynamic range of yesteryear while delivering a very playable and natural tone.
While there are signs of wear and scratches—such as rust on the metal parts and cracks in the finish—that are consistent with its age, combined with the body’s sun-faded color, it has a look that’s brimming with vintage charm.
It has been modified—with the pickguard removed and the knobs replaced—to give it a slightly unique and modern look, making it a guitar I can recommend to a wide range of players.
There are signs of a crack in the escutcheon, but it has been repaired.
