This guitar is part of Fender Japan’s Stratocaster Special series, which was released in the early 2000s.
Featuring a classic combination of materials—an ash body, maple neck, 7.25R radius, and 21 frets—this high-end model is equipped with USA-made Texas Special pickups.
In addition to the pearlescent look unique to the WBV (White Blue Velvet) color—which changes appearance depending on the viewing angle—the pickguard has been replaced with an anodized pickguard believed to be from the Fender Custom Shop (marked “01-10-01 R.P.” on the back), giving this guitar a distinctive presence that sets it apart from standard models.
Additionally, the strap pins have been replaced with Jim Dunlop lock pins. * Strap missing
Its appeal lies in the clear response characteristic of an ash body, the warm, gripping tone unique to the anodized pickguard, and the thick, forward-pushing sound that defines the Texas Special.
There are cracks on the left edge of the tremolo backplate and on the selector knob, but the selector knob has been repaired and is fully functional.
While there are signs of wear commensurate with its age—such as tarnish on metal parts, rust, fine scratches, and dents—it is in good playing condition and functions perfectly.
