New Japanese-made FG/FS models featuring Sitka spruce tops and dovetail neck joints

Crafted in Japan. Built to Perform.
The FG/FS7 is a guitar designed with the same philosophy as the flagship FG/FS9 model, making it ideal for singer-songwriters.
Combining Yamaha’s latest technology with Dreadnought (FG) and Concert (FS) body styles—ideal for traditional playing styles—it delivers a rich sound and excellent playability that will enhance your performance.
A concert-style body with excellent sound separation, ideal for fingerpicking
A solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing and a reinforced back structure that produces powerful projection and excellent response
Solid African mahogany sides and back provide warm mid-to-low frequencies and a light, airy tone
A slightly rounded V-shaped mahogany neck that feels comfortable in the hand and enables smooth playing
A unique design that incorporates elegant yet understated Japanese aesthetics, allowing the player to express their individuality
An ebony fingerboard that produces a bright and clear attack
Cowbone nut and saddle for clear, balanced resonance and rich sustain
Gotoh open-gear tuners offering superior reliability and durability
Hard case included
Made in Japan

The FS7M features a concert-style body shape that produces a responsive, balanced sound that highlights delicate, detailed single notes. The top is crafted from solid Sitka spruce, which offers an excellent balance of clarity and power, while the back and sides are made of solid African mahogany, characterized by warm midrange and a rounded tone.
Furthermore, it features a scalloped X-bracing pattern redesigned exclusively for the FG/FS7 series using Yamaha’s unique “Acoustic Design” approach—a fusion of scientific analysis and skilled craftsmanship—and the back is designed to be thicker to enhance the power of the sound emanating from the entire body.
By employing a traditional dovetail joint for the neck, the FG/FS7 offers a light, resonant tone from the neck to the body—distinct from the flagship FG/FS9—with a pleasant sustain and harmonics that are easy on the ear.
The design, which exudes an overall sense of “Japanese authenticity,” faithfully follows the FG/FS9 concept; while maintaining simplicity, it showcases the meticulous attention to detail expected of a high-end model.
Design elements rooted in Japanese culture are scattered throughout the details, such as an inner label made of washi paper, shimenawa-style purfling, and unique position marks inspired by traditional Japanese wood joinery.

A new high-end model in the FG/FS series, handcrafted at the Hamamatsu factory.
Carefully selected woods, acoustic design incorporating the latest technology, meticulous craftsmanship, and the refined design unique to Yamaha—a source of pride for Japan.
This is a masterpiece that brings joy not only when played but also simply when held.
