Atelier Z M265 Series, a fretless 5-string bass designed for smooth tone and expressiveness
The M265 series by the Japanese handmade brand Atelier Z features a combination of an ash body and maple neck for a clear and rich sound. 34" long scale provides stable playability in spite of its 5-string design. The fretless design (lined) allows the player to freely express the unique smooth slide and rich overtone tones.
Controls include master volume, pickup balancer, treble boost, and bass boost. The bass boost pot has a push/pull switch to switch between active and passive. The combination of Atelier Z's original JBZ-5 pickups and the EQ-X preamp makes it suitable for a wide range of genres. This is a unique piece that is perfect for live and studio use.
Including noticeable scratches and dents, the parts show signs of use such as dullness, rust, and peeling chrome. The bridge is equipped with a Schaller bridge, but we cannot confirm if it is original. There are no problems with the neck, and it is in good playing condition.
