The Fender Japan 4-string fretless jazz bass “JB62FL” has arrived!
Based on the “Made in Japan” label and the “N” serial number, this is believed to be a model produced by Fujigen between 1993 and 1994.
This fretless model is based on the 1962-spec Jazz Bass.
Its appeal lies in the smooth fingering and rich expressiveness unique to fretless basses, allowing for a wide range of sounds—from a singing tone to a warm, woody tone.
It excels not only in jazz but also in various genres such as fusion and pop.
Combining the meticulous craftsmanship and high playability characteristic of Japanese-made instruments, this is a great choice for those new to fretless basses!
There are signs of wear, such as scratches, dents, and peeling paint.
Signs of aging, such as rust and tarnish, are visible on the metal parts.
There are cracks in the finish on the side of the body, and areas where the finish has peeled away, exposing the wood.
There are pickguard mounting holes, but the pickguard is missing.
The neck shows no noticeable abnormalities and is in good playing condition, though the nut is slightly low.
