The MAESTRO ECHOPLEX EP-3 is one of the most iconic tape echo machines of the 1970s. It has earned high acclaim for its warm, tape-echo-specific delay sound and the lustrous tone produced by its unique preamp circuit.This unit features the highly sought-after “Gray Face” finish, and based on the pot date and the “40906-75” stamp on the power transformer, it is believed to have been manufactured around 1975. It is a vintage piece of equipment that allows you to experience the EP-3 preamp sound—which remains popular among many players today—not just as a simple echo unit.
The exterior shows signs of wear appropriate for its age, including scratches, scuffs, and discoloration. The IC is socketed and features a Harris CA3080E. The tape cartridge has been replaced with a Fulltone ETC-1, and maintenance—including capacitor replacements, primarily in the power supply section—has been performed. It has been serviced with a focus on practicality as a vintage piece of equipment.
