USED GRECO / GOB700, Manufactured in 1978, Natural [12]

The GOB700 in its original specification has arrived.
In the late 1970s, Greco’s lineup—which had previously focused on copies of overseas brands—began to feature original guitar and bass models.

The GO series is characterized by a through-neck construction dubbed the “Speedway Neck,” natural-toned finishes that highlight the wood grain, original-design tuning pegs and bridges, and high-powered original pickups.

Although this GO700 is the most affordable model, its expert woodworking results in a compact body shape that fits the player perfectly. The through-neck construction ensures excellent playability on the higher frets, while the separate-type bridge provides well-balanced string tension.

It features a 5-piece maple/walnut through-neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. The body wings have a three-layer construction of mahogany with zebrawood veneers on the top and back, producing a sound that beautifully balances the zebrawood’s emphasis on high and low frequencies with the mahogany’s rich, resonant character.

It is equipped with two original PU-3B pickups, delivering the powerful, cutting tone that was sought after in basses at the time.
There are numerous scratches and dents scattered throughout the body, and the hardware shows some tarnish.
It shows signs of wear commensurate with its age, and there is some warping in the neck; however, it has been fully serviced and cleaned at our repair center, and playability is good.
