The Suhr Modern Satin, featuring a distinctive original asymmetrical body design, has arrived.
The back of the headstock features a "Suhr JE-Line MADE IN U.S.A." decal.
The serial number is “64823.”
Additionally, the serial number is handwritten in pencil on the underside of the neck end and the bottom of the neck pocket on the body.
There are no signs of irregularities or tampering in the solder work on the controls; the solder joints remain pristine, so the guitar—including the pickups—appears to be in original condition.
There are various scratches, such as dents, on the wood of the body, but they are concentrated in specific areas and appear to be minor.
As for noticeable damage, there is a dent approximately 5 millimeters in diameter near the 3rd fret on the 6th-string side of the neck grip.
Additionally, there are concentrated impact marks near the elbow cut on the 6th-string side of the body, and slight buckle marks have appeared on the contoured section of the body back. However, since the body’s finish is not a thick, film-forming coating but rather a satin-style finish that soaks into the wood and becomes thinner over time, the occurrence of these marks may have been unavoidable.
This satin finish is not a hard, solid coating—whether this is due to the current rainy season or the nature of the wood itself is hard to say—but it provides a warm, woody texture that feels inviting to the touch. Perhaps… as we enter the dry winter months, the finish may feel a bit drier.
However, the entire body exudes a sense of cleanliness. Furthermore, the jumbo-sized stainless steel frets show no irregularities and maintain their beautiful shape, suggesting the instrument has not been subjected to heavy use from serious playing or rough handling.
