2009, the 50th Anniversary of the 1959 Les Paul Standard
The 1959 Les Paul Standard has undergone a major change from the 1959 Les Paul of the past.

ABR-1 bridge studs are now brass with no retainer
Thumbwheel nut is now steel
Nylon nuts, ABS control panel
Cavity position modified (control knob position also changed)
Top arch and neck scanned and modified
Thinned top maple and thickened back mahogany
Fingerboard thickness changed (thinner)
Neck set angle changed.
Pickup cavity routed at a 3-degree angle to accommodate this change.
Upgraded maple top
Changed pickguard screws to (-)
Changed position of rod cover

The individual pieces we have just received are based on the above features.
First lot made in 2009 has Pilot Run (gold certificate) and 50th model (anniversary printed certificate).
The certificate is usually issued for the later 2009 model.

The top is made of quarter sawn and board sawn maple, and the flame maple that spreads over the whole body is a beautiful specimen.
The neck is a little slimmer than in the first half of 2000, making it easier to grip.
Fingerboard is rosewood.
Burstbucker 1 & 2 pickups are mounted.
Vintage-like sound with good output and good gain.
The pickups have a vintage-like sound with good output and good gain.

There are some scratches and minor dents, but it is in Fed Tobacco Burst, which is rare these days.
