A 6-string TRB model customized for John Patitucci!

John Patitucci is known worldwide for his superb playing, brimming with diverse musicality.
We’ve customized the TRB for John with a 35-inch (889mm) super-long scale, 26 frets, and a special-tuned active 5-control system.
Super Long Scale: 35-inch Scale
The scale length has been increased from the standard model’s 34 inches to 35 inches. This achieves the improved intonation in the lower register and the taut, resonant sound requested by John Patitucci.
To counter the increased tension on the neck resulting from the longer scale, a volute (*) was added to the back of the headstock and a quilted maple veneer was applied to enhance neck strength.
* Volute: A design feature that adds thickness to the back of the headstock joint to increase strength
Weight Balance
To maintain weight balance with the super-long scale, lightweight resin tuning pegs were adopted. Additionally, the string posts were changed from the conventional brass to aluminum to reduce weight.
26-Fret Specification
In line with the scale length increase, the number of frets has been changed from the conventional 24-fret specification to a 26-fret specification. This improves the low-end sound and expands access to the high register, unlocking even greater potential for superb playing.
Solid Brass Bridge
Equipped with a newly developed solid brass bridge that reliably transmits string vibrations to the body with high conductive efficiency. The string spacing is 19mm.
Active 5-Control System
Equipped with an Active 5-Control System that enables a wide range of tonal expression.
I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) Treatment
This technology reduces stress between the finish, adhesives, wood, and parts by applying the optimal vibration frequency specific to each instrument while it is in tune, making it "easy to play" right out of the box.

・ Scale length increased from 34 inches on previous models to 35 inches. This fulfills John Patitucci’s request for improved intonation in the lower register and a more resonant sound. To counter the increased stress on the neck caused by the longer scale and resulting higher tension, a volute (a thickened section on the back of the headstock where it meets the neck to enhance strength) was added to the back of the headstock, and a quilted maple veneer was applied to improve neck strength.
・ In conjunction with the scale length increase, the number of frets has been changed from the previous 24-fret configuration to a 26-fret configuration. This not only improves the low-end sound but also expands access to the high register, unlocking even greater potential for virtuosic playing.
