The Analogman Super MOD: A Modern Evolution of the Super Distortion

The Analogman SD-9 MOD is a popular model modified by Mike Piera (Analogman) based on the 1982 Ibanez SD-9 Super Distortion.This unit features the MAXON MP-SD 1301A circuit board used in early Japanese-made models and is equipped with the original matte-finish JRC4558D transistors. In addition to the SUPER MOD, it has been modified with the MIDS MOD, tuning it to a sound that is easier to control and has better clarity while retaining the SD-9’s signature powerful drive tone.With rich mids and high expressiveness, it’s ideal not only as a standalone overdrive but also for pushing amplifiers or other overdrive pedals. It has been upgraded with a highly visible green LED, enhancing its practicality. This unit combines the appeal of a vintage SD-9 with Analogman’s modifications.
The exterior shows signs of wear, such as scratches and scuffs. There is a crack on the circuit board, but it does not affect operation; all controls and functions are working properly. Additionally, the battery snap cover is torn. The battery compartment lid is damaged and does not close properly, so it has been secured with tape.
