USED Fender / ISHIBASHI FSR MIJ Traditional 60s Jazzmaster Alder Body Desert Sand with USA Pickups [S/N JD25020244]

Starting with surf music and focusing on alternative, shoegaze, post-rock, and garage rock—the Jazzmaster now enjoys popularity rivaling that of the Strat and Tele—and here comes an Ishibashi original model upgraded with USA pickups!

The finish is “Desert Sand,” a rare choice for a Japanese-made guitar. True to its name, this distinctive color—resembling desert sand—is a popular choice used on Mexican-made VINTERAII “JM” and “DuoSonic” models.
It pairs perfectly with gold hardware, so all metal parts—including the pickguard—have been unified in gold. Additionally, we’ve deliberately chosen black pickup covers and control knobs to create a sleek, refined look.
This color scheme is also frequently commissioned at the Fender Custom Shop.

We also paid close attention to the sound. While standard models typically feature a basswood body, we selected alder to emphasize a vintage-like, rich, and resonant midrange.

There are also changes to the neck compared to the standard model: while the relatively flat 9.5-inch radius “U”-shaped maple neck remains the same as the standard model, we’ve increased the number of frets from the standard 21 to 22 and changed the frets to “Medium Jumbo” to achieve a more versatile playing experience.
Additionally, the neck binding adds an even more luxurious feel.

The pickups—the cornerstone of the sound—feature the USA-made “American Vintage ’65 Single-Coil Jazzmaster,” as found in the American Vintage Series and other models.
It delivers a vintage-like, rich, sweet, and “emotional” sound within the clear, crisp tone characteristic of a Jazzmaster!
