Rare vintage Ovation Preacher Deluxe 12-String, manufactured circa 1979, is now in stock.
Ovation introduced this innovative model by concentrating its technological capabilities.
Although Ovation is most often associated with acoustic guitars, their solid body series from the 1970s is most notable for its advanced electronics, which were developed with aerospace industry technology as a background. This model features a double cutaway design, with the body and neck made of mahogany creating a massive resonance.

The core of this model is a FET active preamplifier circuit, which is a concentrated technology of the time. The unique system driven by this active circuit delivers a clear and powerful output that cannot be obtained with passive guitars.

In addition, one of the greatest features is the notch filter switch. This feature, which precisely controls a specific midrange, allows for instant tone changes even while playing, producing a shimmering, transparent 12-string tone.

Ovation's unique work combines historical character and innovation. Almost half a century after its manufacture, its original design and sound still exert a unique appeal.

As a characteristic of the active circuit, a slight noise is generated when the controls are touched.
Two mini-switches were found to be defective and have been replaced and repaired. Since the original parts were of a special construction, directly attached to the circuit board, there are no parts that are exactly the same shape, and the knobs of the switches are uneven.
The top of the neck binding on the nut side has been repaired with a different material.
There is a chip on the binding of the neck end, but it has been repaired by gluing at our repair center.
The exterior of the guitar has some rust and tarnish on the metal parts, and there are also some dents, scratches, and chips on the paint. In addition, the tip of the bass string side of the head has been broken off and repaired by gluing.
The neck is in good condition, with a slight wave, especially on the high position side, and a tendency for the string height to rise. The truss rod has less room to tighten. The frets are worn out and some are extremely low, making it difficult to adjust them in the future.
